3.0 Enforcement
To control menace of Female Foeticide, we have the Pre-conception & Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques(Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act 1994( as amended upto 14/02/2003) and the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act.
PNDT has made record mandatory for scanning centres. The records are scrutinized , it is ensured that they contain important information like address, age, phone number, family size etc.
One scanning centres has been sealed by the Civil Surgeon, the appropriate authority.
3 Sting Operations were carried out and 5 cases have been registered which are subjudice.
