200 KWp Solar Photovoltaic Grid Interactive Power Project at Village Khatkar Kalan District Nawanshahr:-

200 KWp Solar Photovoltaic Grid Interactive Power Project has been commissioned at Village Khatkar Kalan District Nawanshahr, the native village of Saheed-E-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh. This project has been dedicated to the nation on 23rd March 2003 by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Hon'ble President of India. The total cost of project was Rs. 480 lacs out of which 280 lacs was Ministry of new and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India share as grant-in-aid, Rs. 40 lacs was World Bank soft loan and the balance 160 lacs was state share. This project is the largest in the country for providing Grid support for boosting the voltage level and improvement of power quality in the village. The power from this project has been connected to the Punjab State Electricity Board Grid. For lightning in the village 100 Nos solar street lights have been provided on the village periphery and road leading to Saheed Sardar Bhagat Singh Museum and 2 nos lights have been provided in ancestral house of Saheed-E-Azam.
